Local PT (Perseroan Terbatas)
A Local PT is Indonesia’s standard limited-liability company. By law, it can be established and owned only by Indonesian citizens and Indonesian-owned legal entities. If any foreign individual or entity will hold shares, the company cannot be classified as a Local PT and must be registered as a PT PMA. See our PT PMA section for details.
For foreign investors, we provide guidance on fully compliant entry routes—typically through establishing a PT PMA or other structures permitted by Indonesian regulations.
Note on work permits (KITAS): To sponsor a work KITAS, a company must meet minimum capital and other regulatory requirements. As a general benchmark, this is often at least IDR 1 billion in capital, subject to sector-specific rules and periodic updates. Contact us for tailored advice.
